The main topic for last Monday's drawing was negative space. I was already familiar with the subject but had to wait for the lecture to finish before I can start my drawing.
The subject was very challenging. Still life with chair, guitar, the case, black kettle, umbrella and cloth. I decided to draw everything as it will be a good practice on proportion, positioning and composition, etc.
Drawing the leaves using negative space on the leaves turned out to be a great decision.

The chair was lighted from below so that explains the position of the light and shadows on the chair's legs.
I had a wonderful time drawing the cloth. I should have done a smoother tonal change but I had too many objects to draw. I should plan on drawing drapery in the next few days.
